For many years, I moved from one place to another without paying much attention to my surroundings. A few years ago, I started carrying a small analog camera on my walks. This simple change made me more conscious of the world around me. Since then, I’ve made it a habit to take a camera wherever I go.
As I walk through the streets, there are always things that catch my eye: a brightly colored door on a gray building, an unattractive house among beautiful ones, a lone plant standing by itself, faded glory I emphasize these contrasts, or symmetries, through framing and composition.
Often, it’s only when you zoom out that you see the whole picture. Only then do you notice how an object might clash with its surroundings. For me, this contrast holds significant meaning. The absence of people in my photos also plays a crucial role. This stillness invites us to look more closely, to observe more deeply, and to truly see.
