Faded Glory

When spending time in the Vogues this summer, we came across many half-abandoned villages—probably all once beautiful but now almost ghost towns. They felt like Wes Anderson shot a film there 40 years ago and the set was left to age without care.

Residents seem to be moving to larger cities, leaving behind empty buildings, closed businesses, and shuttered windows and doors.

I have a soft spot for this type of faded glory.
